Starting a channel on YT- Help?

Hello everybody  Some friends and I want to start a channel and of course monetize it! We have a serious problem trying to figure out how this work, and this is because we don't understand what we can nor can't upload. We know that we can't monetize videos that have copyrighted material ._. Also, we don't know how networks works.

We want to start our channel, videos will be of random stuff but sometimes we would like to upload some gameplay or review anything.

Any help? information? that can help us start? thanks!
