First day of Notting Hill Carnival sees 95 people arrested

Five revellers were detained for possessing, while 35 others were accused of drug-related crimes. Ten arrests ov offensive weaponser common assaults had also been made by 9pm last night.

Despite the miserable weather in west London, with the rain expected to get heavier throughout today, some 7,000 officers will be on patrol for the final day of the annual event.

Chief Supt Robyn Williams said: ‘Carnival very much presents us with two extremes: those who want to enjoy the sound systems, cuisine and have a good time; and those who use it as an opportunity to commit crime.’

The police, as well as business owners in the area, have taken preventative measures to try and cut crime, as well as damage to property. A squad of specially-trained ‘super-recognisers’ have been tasked with spotting people and groups who have been banned from the event.

Amazingly, a week later she was allowed to go home – despite warnings she could be in hospital for a month.

Chloe Bennett was diagnosed with a heart defect while still in the womb.

At her 20-week scan, her mother Stephanie Bennett was told the unborn girl was suffering from transposition of the great arteries.

The life-threatening condition means the blood vessels in her heart are wired the wrong way, stopping oxygen circulating around her body.

Doctors told Mrs Bennett and her husband Charlie that Chloe would not be able to breathe once born – and her only chance of survival would be surgery.

Three hours after her birth, Chloe was taken to theatre for her first operation to keep her breathing.

In fact, some are going so far to say that it will be the coldest August in close to 100 years.

Forecasters point to a sluggish band of low pressure that, accompanied by Arctic winds, plans to hang around like an unwanted house guest for the next two weeks.

The Met Office expects temperatures to be well below average for the month, saying it is not expected to rise above 9C (48.2F) in parts of the North during the day while the low pressure system persists.

As brilliant and beautiful as The Crimson Field has been, I’m not the only one pondering some unanswered questions…

1. Does Kitty know there’s a war on?

In one of my favourite scenes from the series Kitty heads to the beach to unwind, undress and go for a dip.

Despite the fact there are soldiers all around her desperate for medical attention. But not only is she larking about at the seaside, Captain Gillan turned up as well.

Honestly guys, there’s a war on! Aren’t there blood soaked sheets to be burnt or toes to be removed? More to the point does no one notice they’ve absconded, that’s a court martial offence isn’t it?

2. Why is Rosalie so afraid of willies?

I mean, they’re not pretty granted, but the young nurse nearly throws up every time one is even mentioned let alone produced.

As a trained nurse she should be trained in bed baths and the human body yet her fear of the male appendage hinted at something else… but who knows what?

3. Has Flora always been so annoying?

All right by the end of the series she had somewhat redeemed herself into a loveable impish type character, but her insistence on chattering, disobeying rules and generally sticking her nose in was annoying.

Hopefully she and Private Charlie Dawlish will eventually be reunited, but how long could he put up with her for?

4. What exactly was the nature of Kitty’s married life?

On the subject of relationships, one wonders what the story is behind Vincent Elliott and Kitty. We can only speculate there was spousal abuse of some kind given Vincent’s locking her into a hotel room with a malicious look in his sharky eyes.

Is this what led to her affair, and who was it with? Where are they now? There are too many questions on this one.

5. What’s the history behind Quayle and Carter?

One would like to imagine a Birds of a Feather style photo-montage for the shared history of these two only ever hinted at, but they never really seemed to get along that well.

Perhaps it was this spurned friendship that made Sister Quayle such a cow, (no offence cows) going out of her way to cause others pain.

Mizuuchi made the bricks by pouring the warm chocolate mix into precisely measured moulds and once they had cooled he simply popped them out and started building. Nifty.

I feel strangely unmoved. After giving the thumbs-up to Xbox’s showing at E3, their Gamescom conference was a modest affair that kept its head down.

If you missed the event, here are the top five take-aways from their show in Germany.

1. What? Seriously?

It was a benign start; Crystal Dynamics were dragged onto the stage, discussed Rise of the Tomb Raider (following up their reboot which birthed a tiger-murdering icon) and seemed ready to leave without making a mark. Then they announced, almost by-the-by, that their game would be an Xbox One exclusive. The what now?

MORE: Rise of the Tomb Raider is exclusive to Xbox

Calling this a ‘surprise’ would be an understatement of the biggest variety. There was initial confusion over whether this deal was permanent, but due to talk of it being ‘only on Xbox’ during 2015 my guess is that it’s timed. That’s great for execs, advertisers and Microsoft fans. Not so much for anyone else.

2. Annnnnd in the blueeeee corner…


If anything’s leapt up my list of ‘cringe-worthy staging’ during Gamescom, it’d be awkward sports narration of multiplayer matches.

We were treated to this via Evolve’s developers as they ran commentary on a battle against their latest monster, the Kraken. The amusing ludicrousness helped brighten up the show. Especially thanks to them wearing baseball caps backward. Nailed it.

3. Quantum awesome


One of the highlights of Gamescom was a public reveal of Quantum Break’s gameplay, proving that Alan Wake and Max Payne live on in spirit despite their own franchises losing steam.

Mining the writer’s penchant for storytelling with ‘stutters’ which freeze scenes, the potential of these set-pieces was hinted at via the notion that, in some cases, time would loop or crash into itself.

Seeing cars explode under fire before rebuilding themselves was a neat trick, as was a fight trapped purely within a stutter.

As for the painkiller-addled detective, his gunplay has evolved into something even more cinematic thanks to powers that let you slow time for dashes out of cover (flanking foes in the process) or beat-downs.

This gives a chance to mess with enemies, as they quickly become confused as to where you are. One second you’re in their sights, and the next… you’ve as good as vanished.

Releasing bots in Third Party Section - what's wrong?

Hi guys (especially the coder usergroup). 

For more than a month now, I have been trying to release my bot in the Third Party Section. Still nothing shows up. The first time I waited for a month and nothing, and 4 days ago I tried again. Still nothing. 

This thread clearly states that I should try and message one of the moderators of that section, but he has not responded even though being online at least twice after receiving my message:

So what can I do to get my bot approved? Seeing as I get no feedback at all, I have no idea where I should be improving on it. Should I just stop developing for TBN and move to a different forum instead? At the moment I have at least 2 bots that I'd like to release here but apparently can't. 

I am not complaining that the bot is not accepted, I would just like some feedback as to why - so that I can make the appropriate changes to get it released here.

Both phones are awesome. I had an iPhone 5 before I sold it to get my Nexus 5. 

Android will always be superior. But I liked the feel of the iPhone 5. Apps feel so optimized and run more smoothly compared to android. Never had an app crash or lag on my phone.

The cons about having an iPhone is that the battery life sucks ass especially if you jailbreak it. (Which apple doesn't even allow unlike androids Root and custom roms).

Screen size is weird, battery dies fast, battery dies even faster when jailbroken, and the 4.1 design looks terrible compared to the old.

If the iPhone 6 is 1080p with a better battery life. Then I'd choose it over android.

Many different projects, Spotify library transfer to other services (Google Music, etc.), games, websites, other things. I don't really want to say exact things.

Yes I design with C4D but I have a lot to learn, I'm a lot more experienced in Photoshop. Have I tried making something else other than materials with C4D? Yep, text and mountains and grass and stuff.

This took me 15 mins. tops to make so don't take this oThanks, funny thing is all my GFX knowledge is from like the years 2009-2012 so that's pretty much been my style up to this point. I don't know if you're big into the GFX community on YouTube, but I just started getting into GFX back in the days of OneKindMedia (if that doesn't ring a bell you were probably doing something more constructive with your time back in 2010).ne too seriously.

As for EDMDistrict, yes indeed. I found out about it from TastyNetwork and Monstercat. The place is filled with a lot of people who make good music, I really like it, though I can't make it myself

[Guideline] How to Make a Good 'Make Money' Thread

Hello! Read below and follow these guidelines if you want to create a good and efficient Make Money thread.

Basically this sub-forum is supposed to focus on methods people use to make money, including internet marketing, exploits, gpt programs, referral techniques, ptc sites, adwords, ebay, youtube and any methods or guides that can potentially help you rake in the money. However, I am seeing more and more posts about how people make $400-$500 per hour and give not method whatsoever - just a referral and non referral link! Unacceptable!
Create a catchy thread title - Do not simply put the name of the place from where you earn money in the title slot and expect to get a ton of views. You have to be cautious what you post because the owner of the websites constantly do searches and if they find out that you are exploiting their website or if they find out that you are somehow obtaining referral illegally - violating their terms of conditions in any way, you could possibly be banned and not be able to earn again.
Create good and fresh content - Write the thread yourself, make sure the content that you are providing is up to date. Make sure you have at least 2-3 good paragraphs explaining what the website/method is and how people can earn.

You can only peko someone/they peko you only once every 12 hours.

-When someone else pekos you, you don't spend any peko.
-Take advantage of the time bonus. If someone else PEKOS YOU, be sure to peko them back within 10 minutes(25% time bonus). For this reason, I have notifications turned on for peko on my phone.
-Find people to peko in the scramble match. Often times when you peko people "near you" or on the "radar", they won't peko back. The people in the scramble match lobby you KNOW are there. Once you peko them, they have 10 minutes to peko you back and get the time bonus with you. 99% of the time, they peko back within the 10 minutes.


-Go into the scramble match lobby and fish for people to peko you at odd times. Typically at night time is the worst time. Morning is pretty good, as well as afternoon. I suppose it depends what time zone you are in. Being a female helps, and having a provocative picture helps. However, if you have neither, usually a picture of a cute animal does the trick!

*What games to be played?

PEKO GUIDE:
GENERAL TIPS: -NEVER have 10 pekos... When you have 10 pekos, that means your not regenerating any new pekos(1 peko regenerates once an hour. if you click on the side bar it tells you how many more minutes till you get your next peko). The only acceptable time to have 10 pekos is when you wake up. This is usually when I just use 5-10 pekos. Remember: if you have 10 pekos, you aren't getting any more! So use them up!


-Try very hard to NEVER peko someone else when your peko is in the middle of regenerating(again, see the side panel to see how much time you have left). Once you peko someone, your timer resets. Example: if I had 6 pekos and pekoed someone with only 5 minutes left till I got my next peko, I would have 5 pekos, and it would take a WHOLE HOUR to regenerate another one to get 6. In this example what you should do is just wait the 5 minutes til you have 7 pekos, AND THEN peko someone.

I wasn't going to bother, but seeing as you're being a total ass to someone who simply pointed out their results - why don't you fix the title of your thread while you're at it? Out of 100% winning, you can choose HI or LO, to make it even a 50% chance of winning the range would have to be your bet >= 5000 or your bet <= 5000. Basic math and intuitive logic can tell you that the range on the site only allows you to lose money in the long run because your odd of winning are less than 50% every time because of the allowed range for HI and LO which leaves 500 units out of the 10,000 (that's 5%) extra that they will win over you.

So put 45% win rate. Not 99.9%.
